Thermal Hog Hunt

DWWC is pleased to offer a 3 day 2 night hog hunting trip this year with 3 Curl Outfitters - a premium local outfitter near Waxahachie.
 
There are two versions of hog hunting offered at the same time with the same outfitter and lodge. Thus, up to 6 hunters will be at the same lodge at the same time but their schedules will be different.
  • One is a fully guided thermal hog hunt.  You along with a guide will stalk feeding hogs at night.  Guns and ammo along with optics will be provided for this hunt. This hunt comes with guaranteed shot opportunities. If you don’t get a shot, your next trip is free. Typical hunts are about 6 hours starting at dusk.
  • The other is hunting from blinds for hogs under feeders. This will generally be at dawn and dusk but some may have lights that allow for night hunting.
This trip is the night thermal hunt. Cost for this trip is $1,025. Included in the price is the use of firearms, ammo, optics and lodging. Bring hearing protection.
 
Meals can be cooked on premises or obtained in town. The lodge has a fully stocked kitchen including a grill and a fire pit for relaxation.  A cleaning station for killed hogs is available or there may be able a guide available to clean hogs for $100/hog.  Freezers for storing game during the trip are provided. 
 
All participants are required to have a valid hunting license.

This trip is the blind hunting under feeders. Cost for this trip is $775. Lodging is included in the price. Each hunter will need to bing their own rifle and ammo plus hearing protection.

Bull Reds and Redheads

Bull Reds and Redheads

Our Bull Red and Redheads is a go.  This will be a blast and cast!  It is the weekend before Thanksgiving so kids will be out of school.  This is early season duck hunting so the weather should be nice. This is also a great time for redfish especially that bull red.

Duck blinds are usually permanent built shelters.  They can be roomy and comfortable.  Light wading to get in the blind will likely be required.  Last year we walked about 100ft in knee deep water to access our blind.  Hunting may be in the AM or PM. 

Fishing will be the opposite time.  You will likely return to the boat dock to drop off and pick up anything needed between fishing and hunting. 

Our lead guide will be Thomas Mikes again.  He is a club favorite down there.  The cost of this trip is $785.  That price includes guide fees, lodging, and use of fishing tackle. Cleaning of fish and birds will be extra, but should be minimal in costs. 

Bring your shotgun, non-lead ammo, and hearing & eye protection.

Meals will be discussed prior to the trip.  We will likely cook at the house, but restaurants are an option.  Registration for this trip will be extremely limited!  A $400 deposit reserves your spot on this trip.  The balance will be due Oct 1.  If you are interested in this trip please reach out to Erik Fosheim (efosh@aol.com or 612-803-4002).
